India has been a country of cleanliness since ancient times, but due to the infinite growth of population and urbanisations.
India went backward in cleanliness day by day.
Until a few years ago, in the context of cleanliness of India, such a situation had happened in the world that those foreigners who used to visit India.
After traveling, started taking the name of India as an unclean country.
But this situation has changed a lot in the some years and the path on which this change is coming is called 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'.
Just as a clean mind lives in a clean body, only healthy people can live in a clean country.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 2 October 2014 on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti in our country regarding cleanliness.
This is a good initiative by the government, but we have to participate with the mind, not for showmanship.
If we keep cleanliness in our house, then all the people will get used to it and all will be able to help in keeping our home as well as our country clean.

Since the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and was targeted to be completed on his 150th birth anniversary.
It was named 'Mahatma Gandhi Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' after Mahatma Gandhi.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is commonly called 'Swachh Bharat' and 'Clean India Movement'.
Through Swachh Bharat abhiyan, awareness is created to create awareness among people especially in rural areas.
That they should use toilets and not go out in the farm and train lines. It also spreads many diseases. Which is not good for anyone people's.

We will build nine crore toilets but will we be able to convert a whole generation?

Rural sanitation coverage was recorded at 38.7 percent at the time of Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) in India on 2 October 2014.
More than 10 crore individual toilets in india were constructed under this Swachh bharat mission.

And all the city and village declared themselves ODF on 2 October 2019.
The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation has advised all the states and villages to reaffirm that there is no rural house.
